All you need to know about ultrasound diagnostic services

Ultrasound is a procedure that is done on the humans as well as animals by using sound waves that are of high frequency which further produces images. It is extensively used by the specialist in the healthcare field.

Ultrasounds are done particularly in field of obstetric or by gynecologists. Ultrasound diagnostic services are also available in 3D and 4D scanning. Obstetric Ultrasound on one hand is a very significant tool which is used to establish and examined by the doctors to view the condition of a growing baby present in the womb.

When ultrasound waves touch the body, many tissues reproduce the sound waves partially and rests are transmitted and is further reflected back.

Types of ultrasounds are-

Abdominal Ultrasound- it is a kind of image test that is conducted to examine the organs of the abdomen area that includes pancreas, gall bladder, liver, kidneys etc.

Pelvic Ultrasound (Female/Male) - this type of ultrasound is carried in both men and women. It provides pictures of the organs in lower abdomen area as well as pelvis. Further pelvic ultrasound is of three types-
  1. Abdominal 
  2. Vaginal for women
  3.  Rectal for men
Thyroid /Neck Ultrasound- this type of ultrasound is used to view image of a gland in the neck and thyroid. It is the painless test which is carried out by the experts in the radiology departments.

Musculoskeletal Ultrasound- in this procedure of ultrasound images of tendons, joints, soft tissues, muscles of the whole body.

Obstetric Ultrasound- this ultrasound is done in pregnancy period. Here sonography is carried out in which embryo is visualized from the mother’s womb. It is the safe procedure and mothers and the child are safe. Doppler ultrasound is also the part of this form of ultrasound.

Renal Ultrasound- Renal ultrasound is safe and pain free procedures that are carried out using sound waves to find images of the uterus, and gall bladder and kidney and then are captured in the computer. Black or white images that are formed represent internal organs or composition of the kidney.
